Testimonials

We asked residents what makes Baileyton home. Here is what they shared.

Baileyton is a very special little town. It has been home to myself for many years, my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. My grandparents owned a small gas station years ago. They operated a garage out of the same building and then had a furniture store until they passed away. My parents bought the house that I grew up in 67 years ago. Back then, everyone knew their neighbors very well. We visited them often, popped in to borrow an egg or cup of sugar. Everyone is so busy now that we don’t have the time to truly get to know our neighbors.
I lived in Baileyton from 1959 up until 1978 when I married and moved to Fairview. I divorced in 1995 and moved back to Baileyton and have been here since. I think of our little town as a little Mayberry!!!! Things have changed over the years, but I wouldn’t trade it for any other town!!!!

I found this house in Baileyton 61 years while Buddy was in service , when he got out we bought the house and did a lot of remodeling over the years . We love living in the community, lots has changed, after he died we sold the place and bought land and built anew house still in Baileyton, For the most parts it’s quite and peaceful, Love this little town,

My husband Bobby and me moved here from Ft Hood, Texas in 1964 just out of his tour of duty in the Army. We have lived here ever since then raising our children and working and enjoying this wonderful town. Bobby’s parents lived here but they have been gone several years. When we first moved here we lived in Fred and Essie White’s house and later bought the house and farm. Our son and family lived in that house now and we built a new one down the road from them. Bobby served on the Town Council for 39 years and I served later for 4 years. It was a privilege and blessing to be a part of the governing decision of the town. During my tour we built the new Town Hall. With the council’s help we built a very nice building and we are very proud of it. Baileyton is a wonderful place to raise a family and enjoy the good neighbors we all have.
